Q: What types of photos do you accept?
A: We will accept digital photos, actual prints, and even film (i.e. negatives).
However: We will not reprint copyrighted photography without the consent of the photographer! By submitting material you agree that you own the rights to the images or that the photographer has given you expressed permission to use the images in this way.
Q: How can I tell if I have permission?
A: Here are some examples of instances where you would have expressed permission to use the pictures for announcements:
- You took them yourself.
- A close friend/relative took them, gave them to you and said the pictures were yours.
- A professional photographer took them AND gave the images to you with written permission to use them for any person purposes.
- A professional photographer took them AND gave the images to you and their photography contract gives you such permission.
Q: Why is there a Design Fee?
A: The design fee is there because whether you are ordering 50 or 500, we still maintain the same quality in your announcements. Here are some of the things the design fee covers:
- The custom design of your anouncement to your exacting taste! Feel free to be "picky," they are your announcements!
- Up to 10 individual emailed "proofs" until we get it right for you.
- A "hard copy" proof plus the postage to mail it to you.
- Retouching! Our designer is a masterful digital retoucher (check it out). Make sure to point out needed retouching so we don't miss it
- Special design elements as needed (like making a portion of an image black and white while leaving the rest in color!).
- Scanning (if necessary) of film or prints.
- Many other "fine-tuning" of your announcements that may come up.
Even with a design fee, you'll find that we are more affordable than anyone you'll probably see! And although your announcements will be affordable, they aren't cheap!!
Q: Can I have extra envelopes in case I mess some up?
A: Yes, in fact this is encouraged! Plan on messing up 10-30 envelopes if you are hand writing them. Extra envelopes are $0.15 each or $0.20 with return address labels. |
Q: How do I send photographs?
A: Fill out an information request form on our contact page and we will contact you with instructions on how to get the photos to us.
Q: Will you duplicate (copy) this invitation that I found on your competitor's website?
A: Yes and No. No, we can't "copy" other's designs per se (that is illegal), but there is a way around that. You can describe what you want us to do (what you liked on their example), and once we have a working copy that is very close, you can help us tweak it bit by bit (we'll send you up to 10 different "proofs" by email for you to approve or change).
This way neither of us break the law, and the announcements are truly customized to you.
Q: I want a specific font on my announcement, do you have it?
A: Perhaps. We will use specific fonts if we have them, ask us.
Q: How long will this take? I need my Announcements soon!
A: Turn-around time can be very fast, or slow - it depends. Do you want to see and approve emailed proofs? Do you want to see and approve your "hard copy" proof in the mail? Do you want your announcements shipped Priority Mail, or FedEx-ed overnight? This process depends on how quickly you approve proofs and how many are needed.
The fastest scenario is three or four working days: in that case you would have to approve the first email proof you get, and then have the announcements expedited once they are printed. In this scenario the "hard copy" proof is waived, and that cost goes toward a "rush charge."
On average, however, it takes 2-4 weeks. Again, the process is helped if you quickly get back to us everytime you see a proof.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: We accept all of the major credit cards, and postal money orders. If you absolutely have to send us a check, understand that we will not ship your announcements until the check clears our bank.
Once you have approved your announcement design, and you have told us the quanity you want done, we will tell you the total charge for your order. If you send a money order we'll ship the announcements when we get the money order.
If you are paying via credit card, we will send you a link to pay the balance online through PayPal. This is a secure form, and you may use your own PayPal account to pay if you have one. |
